My Best Friends Wedding
So my gorgeous friend of over 35 years Nikki got hitched!
Rob and Nikki had been boyfriend and girlfriend in highschool for about a week before Nikki 'ditched' him leaving Rob heartbroken. After holding the flame for all those years Robs wish finally came true. I have never ever seen such a smitten Groom and holding back the tears I somehow managed to shoot their wedding.
It was a beautiful ceremony conducted by another life long friend Nola Walter (@celebrantperth) who as expected brought her trademark spontaneous and authentic sense of humour to proceedings but also added to the strong sense of family, connection and genuine affection throughout.
The small group of family and friends who attended were all so thrilled to see them tie the knot that you could sense the joy in the air.
The guests dispersed for pre-dinner drinks whilst we set off in a large golf buggy to the far corners of the estate for photos.
The sun struggled to peek through the clouds to give that warm afternoon glow at 'Golden Hour'. We raced back in the golf buggy to the lake near the reception centre to catch the sun just as it hit the horizon with the guests cheering from the balcony. No pressure right?? So often it is the last images of a shoot that are my favourites. Even if I am lying on damp grass covered in duck poo.
Nikki and Rob,
I was so honoured that you trusted me with your sacred day. I have always felt like part of the family and somehow so much more after this special day. It was such a wonderful experience I will treasure forever and I am so happy that you love the images.
